Try HTML5 New Input Forms.

Here are some of the new input types that you can test in your browser. If the browser doesn't recognize the type, it will default to type text which will work like an average box with no special features.

  • search --- This is just like a normal text box in most cases, but an extra "X" appears that lets you clear it. On a mobile browser, the keyboard on the screen will morph to enable search.

  • email-- It's like a normal text box, but when you click the "submit" button, it starts checking and complaining. ---

  • url -- It's also like a normal text box, but when you click the "submit" button, it starts checking and complaining. ---

  • tel--- One smartphones, the keyboard will morph to a dialpad. The form doesn't enforce any pattern, though, because phone numbers are different throughout the world. ---

  • number--- Just digits please. And take note of the little arrows that can let you move up or down by a configurable amount. ---

  • range--- Draggy widgets for inputting a range. ---

  • date--- Find a date. ---

  • month--- Just input a month and year. ---

  • week--- And just a week. ---

  • time--- And a time. ---

  • datetime--- And time and date together. ---

  • color---
